There could only be one reason for such distinct title - I was a newbie and a “noobie” in a foreign land. Okay… I meant to write this post because it felt memorable enough to leave a mark on the world wide web. Hah!

Most people like to talk about how significant first time is… Well, it was my first time in Singapore and my first time going somewhere outside my home country (my first time making a passport, first time walking through a metal detector, first time having an immigration officer glance at me to see whether my awkward photo looks like me). Wait, how old am i again? I know a lot of people who’s been travelling in and out of the Malaysian border, some ever since a toddler, many times like as if it’s a norm. And admittingly, I was envious.

How can I not be?

With Facebook and everything, their travel pictures are always displayed widely on my computer screen for me to go “Aww… so pretty” or “I wish i was there”. I’m not complaining though! I love seeing them and my fingers won’t stop hitting the “Like” button every time.

But! Despite the envy towards them avid travelers, I wanted to share some of the things i picked up from my “first-time experience” in Singapore, The City of (mer)Lions.
